Tras el éxito de este single, en principio promocional, Lady Gaga ha decidido lanzarlo como segundo single de "Artpop". La canción que cuenta con la colaboración del rapero R. Kelly es totalmente opuesta a los ritmos bailables de "Applause" aunque al igual que esta tiene un estribillo pegadizo. La cantante, que había promocionado el lanzamiento de "Venus" como segundo sencillo por todos los medios posibles, ha prometido a los fans que "Venus" contará con vídeo y se lanzará como single en un futuro.

Following the success of this single, initially just promotional, Lady Gaga has decided to release it as second single from "Artpop". The song, which features the rapper R. Kelly, is totally opposed to the danceable rhythms of "Applause" although like it has a catchy chorus. The singer, who had promoted the release of "Venus" as the second single by all possible means, has promised to her fans that "Venus" video will be released as a single in the future.
